TOPIK IBT Complete Guide (Registration, Format, Fee, Timetable, and More)
TOPIK IBT (Internet-Based
Test) is a new generation of TOPIK tests designed to measure the
ability of non-native speakers to express comprehension in the Korean
language. Unlike the existing TOPIK PBT (Paper-Based Test), TOPIK IBT is
conducted online at the designated test center using an Internet-connected
computer or tablet PC.
1. TOPIK IBT Test Outline
- TOPIK
IBT has the same efficacy and grading system as the existing TOPIK PBT test.

Test method: Test-takers attend the designated test center on the test day and take
the test using the computer or tablet PC prepared in the test center

* Test schedule is subject to change depending on
regions and time differences.

TOPIK IBT has a different refund policy from the existing TOPIK PBT test, so be
sure to check the contents.
4. TOPIK IBT Test Format

Compared to the existing paper-based test, TOPIK IBT has a slightly different
format with a smaller number of questions and a shorter test duration as follows:

* TOPIK Speaking is conducted on the same day after the end of the TOPIK II IBT.
* This is a domestic timetable,
and overseas tests can be changed depending on the circumstances of the test
site.
6. TOPIK Grading and Levels
- The
TOPIK levels are determined based on the overall achieved score.
- The total score is 400 points for TOPIK I and 600
points for TOPIK II.

7. How to apply for TOPIK IBT?
- Online
application through the TOPIK website: https://www.topik.go.kr
* If
the registration information you entered does not match the ID card
information, you cannot take the test.
* Cancellation
of application is possible at [My Page > Application Status >
Cancellation of Application] (available only during the application period)

Online application through the TOPIK website is applicable only to those who
take the test in Korea.
8. TOPIK IBT Test-Taking Review
The TOPIK IBT review is shared by a test-taker who took the first pilot TOPIK IBT in 2022.

9. TOPIK IBT certificate and validity
- The TOPIK certificate is applicable to applicants who pass the test.

The TOPIK certificate is valid for 2 years starting from the test-taking date.

In Korea, all applicants can check and print out their test score certificate
from the TOPIK website.
> In overseas, the test score certificate was sent to overseas institutes and then distributed to individuals.
